🔧 Equipment Inspection Checklist

Inspect equipment before each use to ensure safety and prevent breakdowns.


Pre-Use Inspection

Visual Inspection

  • No visible damage - Cracks, dents, bends
  • Guards in place - All guards installed
  • Safety devices - Backup alarms, lights working
  • Tires/tracks - Condition, pressure, wear
  • Hydraulics - No leaks, hoses in good condition
  • Attachments - Properly secured, in good condition

Fluid Levels

  • Engine oil - Level correct, clean
  • Hydraulic fluid - Level correct
  • Coolant - Level correct
  • Fuel - Adequate fuel
  • Battery - Clean terminals, charge level

Operational Check

  • Starts properly - No unusual sounds
  • Controls work - All controls functional
  • Brakes work - Brakes functional
  • Steering works - Steering responsive
  • Lights work - All lights functional
  • Backup alarm - Alarm working

Documentation

  • Inspection tag - Tag completed and dated
  • Issues noted - Problems documented
  • Repairs needed - Maintenance scheduled if needed


Don't Use Damaged Equipment

If equipment fails inspection, tag it out of service and schedule repair. Using damaged equipment is dangerous and can cause accidents.
